Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
UC Davis Psychology (and UC Davis more broadly) is a diverse and inclusive community that includes people of different races, ethnicities, genders, ages, religions, languages, abilities/disabilities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic status, geographic regions, first-generation status, and more. You can read our psychology department’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion on our department webpage.
At the UC Davis BASC Lab, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to success in learning, and in advancing science. Scientific discoveries are most impactful when they have applications for everyone (e.g., people of all cultures, backgrounds, and identities, socio-economic status, races and ethnicities, sexual orientations, abilities/disabilities, and more). To achieve this far-reaching impact, everyone should be included in human-subjects research. Likewise, the same diverse population should also be represented as scholars conducting the research. Indeed, advances in science come from diverse experiences and perspectives that spark innovation, and push the boundaries of current thinking and practice. The BASC Lab is committed to enhancing diversity in our research, and we welcome everyone who has a genuine interest in learning and science. We strive to maintain a respectful, safe, positive environment for all.
